A brief summary of the role: (3 Month Contract)

The Manager Banking Operations is responsible for performing quality and control verification on high risk operating activities to ensure accuracy and completeness of information in compliance with regulatory and policy requirements.  The Manager also serves as a backup to the Manager Remittance and the Manager Deposit during periods of high volumes and planned and unplanned absences. 

Job Details:

  • Performs quality and control verification on high risk operating activities including verification of remittance input forms and transactions and regulatory reporting. 
  • Initiates and performs any remedial or corrective action required to reduce exceptions and errors at source.  This includes identifying and acting on required improvements to procedures, input forms and templates in consultation with management and following up with payment originators to correct data quality issues. 
  • Oversees teller balancing and cash supply and return activities to reflect appropriate segregation of duties.
  • Maintains Vault Custodian Procedures and Roster up-to-date.  Serves as a Vault Custodian on the rotation schedule.  Identifies any health and safety or other issues and initiates remedial action as required with Office Services, other Custodians, and other departments as required.   
  • Develops, implements and maintains quality and control checklist that identify and support the execution of all monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual and ad-hoc activities. 
  • Supports operations-related projects.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

•Five plus years of experience in banking operations in a similar role.

•Sound knowledge of remittance and deposit processing operations, controls and procedures and AML transaction reporting requirements for EFT transactions and large cash deposits.

•Working knowledge and experience working with SWIFT and BESS systems considered an asset. 

•Post-secondary diploma in a related field of study at university or college level
