Job Description: 

Associate, Portfolio Management

The primary purpose is to develop and monitor corporate accounts related to managing and developing the business of the bank with corporate customers and prospects, through duties in the areas of portfolio administration functions, financial analysis, and credit application preparation.

Supporting functions for development and portfolio management function may require some travel, primarily within North America.

Responsibilities

  1. Conducts credit analysis of Canadian corporate clients.
  2. Monitors early warning signs of Canadian corporate clients on a weekly basis.
  3. Works with the relationship management team as required.
  4. Prepares credit applications and analyses for assigned portfolio names.
  5. Works proactively and develops strong internal relationships with MUBCP, syndications group, product officers and other PM teams.
  6. Prepares reports and information related to credit-risk management within CCB.
  7. Monitors monthly portfolio data and soft limit exposures.
  8. Study, analyze, and condenses financial information provided by the customer or contained in financial statements and related materials.
  9. Maintains contact with customers to further develop a trusted working relationship and to keep updated on company news and providing answers to any questions they may have in regards to their business with MUFG.
  10. Reviews and analyzes the operating results of the customers' business as reflected in income statements and related materials
  11. Prepares detailed financial statement based forecasts on analysis of historical results and expected trends
  12. Prepares research and analysis of companies, industries and economic conditions in support of business development and portfolio management of the bank.
  13. Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics/Financial Analysis or related degree, Masters or relevant graduate degrees and designations are considered an asset 
  2. Minimum 5+ years related work experience in banking operations, credit processes, legal documentation, and multiple sector understanding.
  3. Proficiency using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  4. Strong financial and risk analysis skills
